LOOKING BACK at 2007
The Society’s first
OPEN
STUDIOS in April and
OPEN AIR
SHOW at Cutty Sark Gardens introduced the work of our
members to a much wider audience. Both events provided valuable
experience and were appreciated by artists and visitors, gaining
us further members and widening our publicity.
Our
President, Jean Cooke RA,
celebrated her 80th
year, with a Retrospective of her work In North London in
December. It included delightful portraits of her family,
including husband John Bratby. A full colour catalogue can be
bought from Piano Nobile Fine Paintings Gallery, tel: 020 7229
1099, email:

There was also a London retrospective of
the work of the late
Hugh
McKenzie in December. He is well remembered for his
vivid streetscapes populated with animated figures. Hugh
regularly showed with the Blackheath Art Society for very many
years.
