Artist Biography - Elizabeth Scott Plummer

My main interest now is landscape painting, particularly the changing skies, wide open spaces and colours of Scotland. I work mostly in oils, but also use pencil, pen and wash, felt pen, charcoal and water-colour.

I am the daughter of an architect/artist and grew up in Devon and Bristol.

I studied at the West of England College of Art, Bristol (1954-58) gaining the National Diploma in Design (painting).

I trained as an art teacher at the Institute of Education, London University (1958-59).

I have taught Art in a variety of schools and evening classes and have worked abroad, mainly in Spain and Tenerife.

A large proportion of my work in recent years has been commissioned: portraits (both here and abroad) animals and houses. I completed 2 portraits in 2005 and I have just begun another of three children.

As a child I exhibited in London with the Royal Drawing Society, winning several prizes.

I occasionally exhibit in group shows details of which will be published on our News page.

In 2004 I had an exhibition shared with Camilla Clutterbuck, at the Fish Gallery, West Hampstead.
