Artist Biography - Robin Cobb

I studied art and design at the Camden Institute, north London, in the late 1980s as a mature student. I also took part, at about this time, in several wood engraving weekend workshops. A small group of artists gathered together in Somerset under the tutelage of Peter Reddick.

Many of my engravings reflect rural scenes but I continue to experiment and have recently produced work combining wood engraving with a collage background.

All the boxwood blocks are printed by hand on my own press. This is a faithful replica of a 19th century Albion, scaled down to a size that fits on a table top. A limited edition of the presses was manufactured in the 1980s and I acquired mine (no. 33) in 1984.

Examples of Robin's art can be found on her Artists Page. If you are interested in buying any of Robin's artwork please refer to or Buying Art page.
