Sunrise 1 - El Cachet,
Loja, Andalusia by Ann Cronin |
The landscape has been Ann's love
from her earliest years. She says "landscape painting is not
only to explore the outer world, but is a way of exploring my
inner world too. My paintings often have two titles, one for the
viewer and one for me. I use whatever technique, medium, format
and colours are necessary to achieve a resolution between these
inner and outer worlds."
Ann's influences include the
landscapes of Kent, Cornwall, the Lakes, Scotland, Tuscany,
Andalusia and Australia. The artists that Ann has drawn on
to develop her style include Turner, Renoir, Bonnard, Matisse,
Paul Nash, Henry Moore, Ivon Hitchens and Graham Sutherland.
